Black Rock Sands
In Wales, just south of Anglesey and west of Snowdonia National Park, there’s a beach called Black Rock Sands. And it’s awesome!
It’s a beach made of sand that’s packed so hard you can drive on it quite safely, so that’s what you do. For a measly fiver (£5) you can drive out on the sand and explore a couple of miles of fine sands backed by dunes designated as an area of special scientific interest.
The cliffs at the northern end of the beach are dotted with caves, some of which are so large you can fit a Sprinter inside them.
On arrival I was given a leaflet containing a map. The beach has designated dog free areas and water sports areas. While I got my bearings I made myself some breakfast.
Black Rock Sands was a great place to spend the day. I explored, Medes around in the caves, moved about on the beach, and sat down beside the ocean with my laptop to get a load of work done. It kind of epitomised vanlife as a digital nomad.
My time in Wales was fairly short. I soon had to head back into England to meet a few people and get a few things done, but I’ll definitely be going back to Black Rock Sands as soon as I can.
Much love
Dave
