Working from home
This ‘rona pandemic has left many of us working from home, but I’ve found a whole new meaning to the phrase.
Having my home with me when I travel means that my office can pop up in some beautiful places. Writing a magazine article whilst in a bay full of seals or retouching photos of a landscape whilst still admiring it are proving to be among the best things about being on the road full-time.
By designing and building Kofifernweh myself rather than buying something ready-made I’ve been able to include everything I need to make my life easier for writing and photography. I’ve included a printer so I can print my work on the go and make my own postcards to send home to loved ones.
The workspaces inside the van are varied and comfortable, so I can either sit on the bench in the cabin or in the swivel seat in the cab to be as productive as possible, as determined by the mood I’m in. If I want to sit outside or in a coffee shop, that’s always an option as well!
Right now in the Isle of Skye the weather is no good, but I don’t give up easily and I’m working hard to turn out some photos and a new video.
For now, I’ll get back to the office and finish off an article about winter photography that I’m writing for N Photo Magazine, and hopefully tomorrow the weather will ease up. That said, there’s snow forecast!
Much love
Dave
